Horseback Trips in the Wyoming Wilderness

Join us for a horseback excursion into the Wyoming wilderness accompanied by an experienced guide from Best of the West Outfitters.

Many of our guests choose to book their pack trip at either the beginning or end of their stay at Brooks Lake Lodge. The trips have a three-night minimum, and the cost is $499 (taxes not included) per person per night. Children and active military / veterans receive a 25% discount.

Get a Taste of the Frontier Lifestyle in style.

The trip begins from the Brooks Lake Trailhead at an elevation of 9,200 ft. above sea level, surrounded by the unbelievable beauty of Pinnacle Buttes in the Bridger-Teton National Forest. It includes a moderate amount of time on horseback and explores the terrain along the South Buffalo Fork River including Terrace Mountain, South Fork Falls, Pendergraft Peak, and Crater Lake.

On this versatile packtrip we always sleep at least two nights in the same camp, so you're welcome to take it easy one day in camp and relax by the river, go for a hike, or take a short horseback ride up the mountain to view wildlife. This is a perfect trip to try your hand at fly-fishing, as the South Buffalo fork is known for several species of trout including Brown, Brook and Rainbow Trout. Guests have even been known to get in a few rounds of backcountry golf!

The Glamping Trip of a Lifetime

Luxury "glamping" accommodations include a traditional wall-tent camp setup with  comfortable bedding, and a wood-burning stove

to keep you warm and dry. Enjoy amazing home-style, dutch-oven meals prepared onsite by our camp chef. A typical day begins early with a hardy mountain breakfast, and our chef sends you off for the day with a brown-bag lunch that barely fits in your saddle bag. Return to camp at the end of the day to a generous mouthwatering dinner and stories around the campfire. Enjoying the Wyoming wilderness is your first priority so focus on your adventure and let us take care of the rest!

Licenses are required from the Wyoming Game & Fish Department if you'd like to do any fishing on your packtrip. We can help you obtain the proper licenses and also are happy to advise on gear and equipment.

Brooks Lake Lodge is a permittee of the Bridger Teton Forest & Wilderness and an equal opportunity provider.
