Brooks Lake Lodge & Spa is pleased to announce that we will open for our 99th summer season July 1, 2020. We continue to follow along closely with the current global pandemic. We are constantly evaluating how best to deal with the current health crisis and will update you frequently as to any changes with us. Our first priority regarding decisions about our summer operations will be to ensure the health and safety of our guests and staff.
In doing our part to help flatten the curve we have eliminated our operations for the month of June, are constantly reevaluating how best to keep our facilities sanitized, and had our staff arrive on property an entire month early to quarantine in place. To keep our guests and staff safe as we reopen, we have reduced the scale of our operation by eliminating all large groups from our summer lineup. We have decided to allow only a small number of guests on the property at one time to ensure social distancing can be adhered to with ease — and we have created a new position of Sanitation Manager, who is responsible for keeping us up to date and in compliance with all government mandates regarding sanitation. We are closely following guidance from the Center for Disease Control, Food and Drug Administration, and the American Hotel and Lodging Association.
Our amended cancellation policy is:
At time of booking, 25% non-refundable deposit is due. If you travel plans need to be changed, we will allow you to alter your vacations within the following two seasons of operations. Meaning the balance can be applied to following winter or next summer, after that Brooks Lake Lodge will retain the deposit. Additionally, If your vacation with Brooks Lake Lodge and Spa cannot happen due to travel bans/restrictions in your home or ours, we will refund you in full.
For questions or concerns around our cancellation or other Covid-19-related policies, please contact our new General Manager, Matthew Tousignant. He will evaluate each set of circumstances individually.
Dubois, Wyoming – December 14, 2020 – A world-famous Wyoming winter destination for snow enthusiasts, Brooks Lake Lodge is legendary for its incredible snowmobile scene, and for good reason. Offering the perfect mix of terrain, conditions and scenery, Brooks Lake Lodge & Spa offers expert sled heads as well as novices an exceptional experience, making the lodge a yearly tradition for many couples, friends and families. Averaging 400-600 inches of snow each winter, the remote Brooks Lake Lodge, perched at 9,200 feet in Shoshone National Forest backcountry, has been called a “bucket list destination” for snowmobilers, offering an extraordinary snowy playground with scenery for days, including the Pinnacle Buttes, Brooks Mountain, and Richard’s Peak.
Brooks Lake Lodge’s dedicated staff includes an elite roster of snowmobile guides who help riders create lifelong memories in the mountains. Activities Manager and Wyoming native Jeremiah “Skinner” Bell has been a snowmobile guide for over 25 years, the last 16 of them at the lodge where his passion for the sport is as deep as the snow he spends his winters exploring and conquering. A fierce competitor on the snow cross and hill climb circuits, Skinner has earned his reputation as a high-flyer who pushes the boundaries of snowmobiling as a sport. But his favorite part of guiding at Brooks Lake Lodge is helping build the confidence of guests and watching them overcome their fears. Especially rewarding is guiding returning guests year after year, “knowing where they started as a rider and seeing how far they have come,” he says. “It doesn’t get any better!” A two-day sledding trip at the lodge, guided by Skinner, was called “nearly perfect” by SnoWest magazine, who gave him high praise for knowing the area inside out.
Located in Wyoming backcountry so remote it’s accessible only by snowmobile or snowcoach in winter, Brooks Lake Lodge is snowmobiling heaven for riders from novices to experienced sled heads.
Snowmobile guide Kacy Conner’s roots at Brooks Lake Lodge are deep – and romantic: it’s where his parents met and fell in love, where Kacy was born and where he met his own wife – they even married at the lodge – making him a true Brooks Lake legacy. This will be Kacy’s fifth year guiding snowmobiling and he “lives for winter,” having started riding when his parents gifted him a 120cc Polaris at the age of two. Kacy’s favorite part of the job is bringing new clients to ride in the mountains surrounding the beautiful lodge he has been raised on.
The lodge’s third snowmobile guide, Jared Nichols, moved to Wyoming in 2012 after spending time in Hawaii on a Navy destroyer. The first thing he bought upon arrival in the state was a snowmobile, and it was during a trip to Brooks Lake Lodge for their notoriously awesome winter lunch when he fell in love with the area. This will be Jared’s second season guiding at the lodge.
At the end of a long snowy day, the lodge beckons with hearty gourmet dining and down-layered beds.
Aside from staggering amounts of powdery snow, epic riding and great guides, the lodge appeals to the appetites of the sled heads who in a typical year travel from around the world to ride, relax and eat like kings and queens. The culinary team at the lodge offers guests gourmet comfort through its hearty and thoughtful meals, all included in an overnight stay. As American Snowmobiler said of the dining scene, “Each course of every meal was a mouthwatering delight.” And after a day at play in the snow, the lodge’s private cabins with pine beds, down comforters and wood burning stoves provide the ultimate setting for a well-earned night’s sleep.
And while riders can arrive with their own sleds if they wish, Brooks Lake Lodge boasts a new-this-winter fleet that includes four Ski-Doo 850s, five Polaris 850s, two Polaris 800s and four Ski-Doo 600s. Enamored of the stellar snowmobiling scene, Travel + Leisure just recognized Brooks Lake Lodge in its coveted winter issue, encouraging travelers to “power through the powder” on the resort’s more than 2,500 miles of snowy trails.
Overnight winter rates at Brooks Lake Lodge start at $450 per person per night and include all meals and all activities and guides (snowmobile rentals carry a separate fee). For the 2020/21 winter season, which runs December 20, 2020, through March xx, 2021, the lodge is limiting accommodations to a maximum of 18 overnight guests at a time, as the safety of staff and guests is the number-one priority.

At nearly 100 years old, the lodge is perched lakeside with spectacular views of the Pinnacle Buttes. Located near Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and Yellowstone National Park, Brooks Lake Lodge offers guests a uniquely remote and luxurious backcountry winter retreat. While the lodge could boast dozens of reasons why it is the best snowy escape for winter enthusiasts, here are the top five:
The commute: Welcome to the woods. Say goodbye to cars, horns, traffic and crowds the moment you arrive to Brooks Lake Lodge. Because of the deep snow and remote location for the resort, guests are greeted at the nearest road by a snowcoach vehicle that transports them along the forested five-mile stretch through the mountains and past Brooks Lake to arrive at the secluded lodge. For the even more adventurous, other modes of transportation for that final five miles include cross country skis, snowmobile or even dog sled. Talk about making an entrance!
Snow much to do: Snowmobilers from beginners to experienced rough riders can explore the nearly two million acres of snowy terrain, cruising on mild backcountry trails or testing the limits on uphill climbs and carving through deep snow. This year the Lodge has added 10 new high-performance machines including the Polaris 600 RMK, Polaris 600 AXYS and Polaris 800 AXYS, as well as the Ski-Doo 850. But whatever a guest’s wintery heart desires, Brooks Lake Lodge has the terrain and the gear for that. For cross country skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing – even sledding – the property is their oyster and the lodge is ready to fulfill every desire for snowy outdoor fun (with activities and gear included in basic rates).
Rugged outdoors, refined inside: Each unique suite and cabin at Brooks Lake Lodge offers a cozy retreat from exciting days spent out in the snow. With crisp linens and goose down comforters on comfy plush beds, a great night’s sleep is expected. Each room is individually named and fittingly decorated featuring delightful and dramatic views. And with free WiFi available throughout the resort, guests can connect…if they really want to.
Gourmet cuisine for refueling: Brooks Lake Lodge offers three full meals a day to guests, all included in each stay. A hearty breakfast, a la carte lunch and gourmet dinners consisting of premium seafood, beef, game, poultry and vegetarian entrees are served each day. Guests can also enjoy oh-so-civilized Governor’s Tea Time, a long-held tradition providing a selection of fruits, cheeses, meats, cookies and crumpets served fireside in the Tea Room each day at 4:30 p.m.
Full-service spa for recharging: After a long day on the snow, guests can enjoy a variety of spa treatments such as deep tissue and hot stone massages, or nourish the skin with one of the spa’s rejuvenating facials. The 3,000-square-foot Rocky Mountain Spa also boasts an enormous 11-by-17-foot hot tub overlooking the lake and the Pinnacle Buttes.
Snow lovers looking for the best way to escape this winter can turn to Brooks Lake Lodge & Spa for an unforgettable experience. One additional bonus: Guests enjoy a nearly 1:1 guest-to-staff ratio, which translates to personal, attentive, friendly service from arrival to departure, making sure each guest feels like a VIP.
Comparing the experience to “an extended snow day,” the Travel Channel recently named Brooks Lake Lodge & Spa, hidden away in the wilds of Wyoming, as a best experience for couples seeking a meaningful, romantic – and off-the-grid – winter escape.
“From wintertime adventures outdoors and soaks in the hot tub to quiet dinners and luxurious spa treatments, Brooks Lake Lodge has all the components of a truly romantic getaway,” is how the leading travel media brand recently described the exclusive, all-inclusive guest ranch, which rests deep in the Shoshone National Forest, accessible in winter only by snowcoach, snowmobile or on skis. According to the Travel Channel, “You wake up and have both endless choices and only one: Your job, here, is to relax. How you choose to do that is up to you.”
Arriving at Brooks Lake Lodge, cell phones can take a back seat – or go back in the suitcase, since there is no cell service. While WiFi is available for those who need to connect with the outer world, for couples seeking a high-speed connection to each other and nature, the lodge provides a gorgeous, truly remote setting to get on the same page.
Because the Brooks Lake Lodge experience is all-inclusive, couples can really relax and soak in the experience. There’s no need to count costs when deciding what to order for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and every gourmet meal is served fireside in the lodge’s historic dining hall. The gourmet offerings from Executive Chef Whitney Hall are carefully curated to create a true culinary experience for guests. “From salmon dinners to racks of venison and pan-seared duck, everything is cooked perfectly,” says the Travel Channel. Meals at Brooks Lake Lodge are prepared fresh daily based on the finest locally sourced ingredients – and Chef Whitney’s thoughtful cuisine recently received attention from both the Los Angeles Times and Food & Beverage magazine.
Another way couples can relax is knowing they’ll be taken care of by Brooks Lake Lodge’s friendly staff. The exclusive lodge accommodates a maximum of 36 guests at a time, creating an intimate environment and a 2:1 staff to guest ratio. Simply put, if you need something, you’re covered. “You arrive with your partner and suddenly, your life becomes one where everything is taken care of for you. It’s like an all-inclusive island resort, but in an enchanted forest where the fish live under two feet of ice,” according to the Travel Channel.
Adventurous couples have no shortage of ways to spend the day as the lodge offers a variety of snowy outdoor activities such as snowmobiling the nearly 2 million acres of scenic terrain, cross-county skiing, snowshoeing and ice fishing, all of which can be guided or unguided based on experience and preference. After a day in the snow, book a massage and then take a soak in the giant outdoor hot tub at the on-site Rocky Mountain Spa overlooking the dramatic Pinnacle Buttes. And every busy day ends in luxurious comfort under a plush goose down comforter in a suite or private cabin.
It’s good to live in Wyoming, for countless reasons. And Wyomingites can take advantage of their local status again this year with a special “Locals Love” two-night stay during the late summer season at the exclusive and all-inclusive Brooks Lake Lodge & Spa, tucked deep in the Shoshone National Forest.
To give locals a chance to unwind in the woods of Wyoming and rejuvenate after a busy summer, the Lodge will offer couples two nights’ lodging including breakfast and dinner. Additionally, Wyomingites taking advantage of the special getaway can enjoy a 50-minute massage at the on-site Rocky Mountain Spa. And the spa’s 11-by-17-foot hot tub is open to guests looking to take a soothing soak while overlooking magnificent Pinnacle Mountain views.
A variety of spectacular outdoor activities are also available to local guests a la carte so they choose favorites without paying for services they may not use. Popular activities available at the Lodge and led by experienced guides include a two-hour horseback ride; a two-hour fishing trip; and a morning or afternoon hike.
“We hope that locals can pack a bag, take a drive and join us during the terrific late summer season. The remoteness of the Lodge and our secluded ambiance transports guests worlds away from the day to day, helping them disconnect from busy lives and often reconnect with each other and nature” says General Manager Adam Long.
Late summer season at Brooks Lake Lodge & Spa was recently captured beautifully in a piece that named the Lodge a“hidden gem” in a recent issue of Western Art & Architecture. With the “Locals Love” deal, Wyoming guests can create their own stories of exploring the wild landscape, relaxing comfortably in luxurious accommodations and feasting on gourmet meals.

Cross-country gear with easy, step-in bindings and premium boots are included in overnight stays.

Also included with a lodge stay – and a great way for families to have a no-fuss outdoor winter experience – guests can enjoy a snowy nature walk through the Shoshone National Forest solo or with an experienced guide pointing out natural landmarks and foraging wildlife.
